Mindfulness. It's a major buzzword these days. We've all heard of it, but what is it and how do we practice it? And WHY would we want to practice it?

Mindfulness is simply paying attention to the present moment in a curious and nonjudgmental way. Each and every time we are able to step away from the crazy chaos in our mind and focus on the present, we give ourselves the best possible chance to make the best possible choice, whatever that may be.

We tend to think of mindfulness as a difficult chore, requiring time, commitment, training, or even a special place in our home. However, none of that is necessary; mindfulness is possible for all of us. There is no way to fail at mindfulness, which is one of its many gifts. When we inevitably forget to pay attention, it doesn't mean we've failed; it means that we have another chance to step back into the present moment.
